Two Names On The Company
Dennis and Frances Hickman founded their first company on April Fools’ Day, 2000.
They founded and acquired additional companies along the way and brought them under one roof, until everything merged in 2015 as Skilled Migration Group. Husband and wife, and for twenty-six years, founder and co-founder.
They have never said that second part publicly before.
When Frances walked into a workshop in Lusaka, she wanted to be the woman who ran deployment, not somebody’s wife.
It worked. But the workers we place have been thanking her in reviews for years, sometimes without quite knowing who they were thanking, and it seems silly to keep it up.
So: two names on the company. He finds the people. She gets them here.
Not “Just” People From The Office
When we assess a worker’s suitability for employment, we conduct the discussion face to face, in the worker’s home country. Nothing beats sitting down with a person in the same room: getting relaxed, getting comfortable, getting to know each other.
It works both ways. Workers need to know who they are applying with. Do these people really know the worker’s industry, and do they know it hands-on, or are they just people from the office?
These are our people. They are certainly not just people from the office.
