In 2011, our company — then trading as Central Queensland Site Services (CQSS) — printed ten thousand copies of a twelve-page brochure: How to Successfully Employ Dealer Trained and Experienced Heavy Equipment Fitters from Around the World. Fourteen years on, we have put it back into circulation, preserved exactly as it went to print.
It is worth reading for what it fixes on paper. It names our dealer clients of the day in print — Hastings Deering (Australia) Limited, Hastings Deering Papua New Guinea, WesTrac and Caltrac SAS — and records that we had been working with Australia’s main Caterpillar dealers since 2005. Page 8 carries the testimonial from Andrew Brooker, Hastings Deering’s Group Human Resources Manager, that now anchors Case Study 15. And the four-step process on page 9 is, in its essentials, the process we run today.
Central Queensland Site Services became Skilled Migration Group in 2015. The founders are the same two people, and the way of working the brochure describes — know the work, know the environment, know the worker — is the way the business still runs. There is more of that history on our About page and in Dennis’s profile.
Published 2011. Immigration policy, department names and contact details in the brochure have all changed since; it is preserved as a historical record, not current advice. For current information, start at Visas & Immigration.
