Case Study 16: AAMG — 12 Months of Research, and the Provider Who Said No

Autonomy & Asset Management Group (AAMG) is one of Australia’s leading asset management service providers and a leader in the remote technologies field.
Its Managing Director spent more than twelve months researching international recruitment and migration providers before approaching us in 2022. Our first answer was no. When the engagement was scoped to what we could genuinely deliver, AAMG became a client, and the programme has run since 2023: face to face interviews overseas with the Managing Director sitting in alongside our interview team, followed by nomination and visa work, and deployment into AAMG’s Australian operations.

After more than twelve months of researching international recruitment and migration providers, almost every conversation had ended the same way: AAMG’s Managing Director was told exactly what he wanted to hear, and assured the provider could do everything. International recruitment is a significant investment, and choosing the wrong partner is costly. What was missing was a provider whose promises could be trusted.
Honesty before engagement. When first approached about working together, the initial answer was no, with a clear account of what we could and could not do. The engagement was then scoped to what we could genuinely deliver.
The programme runs on the same discipline: candidates are interviewed face to face overseas, with AAMG’s Managing Director travelling with our interview team and sitting in on the interviews himself.

Nomination and visa preparation and lodgement for each worker selected. Workers pay nothing at any stage.
In the client’s own words: “The outcomes speak for themselves. We’ve consistently secured high-quality candidates, and the failure rate has been remarkably low.”
“They do exactly what they say they will do, and when challenges arise, they tackle them head-on rather than making excuses.”
A worker placed with this client has independently reviewed the process on Google. Paul Makungu, a Fitter who relocated to Australia in 2023 to join Autonomy & Asset Management Group, described the handling of his visa application and confirmed he paid nothing during the process (Google review, record 062).
I first started working with Dennis and Frances in 2023, but what convinced me to work with them actually happened before we ever became clients. I had spent more than 12 months researching international recruitment and migration providers, speaking to company after company. Almost every conversation ended the same way. They told me exactly what I wanted to hear and assured me they could do everything.
Dennis was different.
When I first approached him about working together, his initial answer was “no.” Rather than overpromising, he was honest about what they could and couldn’t do. That immediately gave me confidence. It showed integrity, honesty and a willingness to walk away rather than make promises they couldn’t deliver. That was something I hadn’t found anywhere else.
Since then, I’ve travelled overseas with Dennis on multiple recruitment campaigns, interviewing candidates firsthand. The process they have developed is exceptionally well organised, thorough and professional. More importantly, the outcomes speak for themselves. We’ve consistently secured high-quality candidates, and the failure rate has been remarkably low.
Dennis and Frances have also been outstanding to work with throughout the entire journey. They are always accessible, responsive and genuinely care about both their clients and the people they place. They don’t disappear once the paperwork is signed, they stay engaged and work incredibly hard to make sure everyone succeeds.
Now, in the spirit of being genuine, I’ll say this. Dennis isn’t always the easiest person to deal with. He can be demanding, speaks his mind, he challenges assumptions and he’s incredibly detail-oriented. But after working closely with him, I’ve come to understand exactly why. It comes from a genuine desire to get things right. He strives for perfection because he knows the consequences of getting international recruitment wrong can be significant for both employers and candidates.
In my experience, that level of commitment is rare.
International recruitment is a significant investment, and choosing the wrong partner can be costly. Skilled Migration Group has earned my trust over the past few years through honesty, integrity, professionalism and consistent delivery. They do exactly what they say they will do, and when challenges arise, they tackle them head-on rather than making excuses.
When people ask me for international recruitment and migration support, I don’t hesitate to recommend Skilled Migration Group.
